Lesson focuses on playing the Marriage Game - full instructions are included. Only extras needed are dice and counters! Though the activity has been designed as a game, it helps students focus on the meaning of the vows taken during a Christian wedding service and also outlines some of the various financial considerations that are taken when preparing for a wedding. Resources include presentation, lesson objectives, starter and plenary, game board and worksheets plus homework. The preparation for the game takes about 30 - 40 minutes, playing the game about 30- 40 minutes, follow-up work and discussion - 20 minutes or so. In total, at least 2 lessons worth of material. I use this game as an introductory lesson to GCSE Religious Studies - Relationships and Christian weddings, but also suitable for Year 8/9 students. Laminate game and cards to use year after year!
